   I saw Dr. Shefali Tsabary on Oprah's Life Class talking about parenting a month or so ago and thought reading her book, "The Conscious Parent", would help me, both as a teacher and parent, but more importantly, help the children I work with and my future children.  I've witnessed, first-hand, the damage I'm capable of doing while teaching unconsciously, and while humbled, I've been at a loss for what to do about  it.  I can imagine that I might approach parenthood similarly.  I'm thinking about buying the book, or at least reserving a copy from the library, and wonder if any of you have already read it or might be interested in reading it together.  I could see doing some sort of book club at my place or a coffee shop, or even an online discussion if you live far.  It's a journey I'd like to embark on in good company.  Here's a video of her speaking at a conference.  It really touched me and rang true to my ears.  Let me know in comments below or privately if you might be interested.

    I down vote this not because I don't think what she says is right. Not she knows her subject and she has grasped the truth of the matter in many ways but there is a negativity and judgemental tone in her speech that that leads me to think that she is divorced from the ideals she promulgates
    There is a lack in integrity in her voice, this could be my imagination but the subliminal messages being put out fill my heart with pain not hope. Please stop putting people down, isn't that the message that is supposed to be given?

    I love Dr Shefali Tsabary teachings. I think she is doing a great brave task in the awakening for better behavior in the world. Every moment of her speech is full of life and consciousness, not even one dull moment with her. I have followed several videos with her on them and she is the most interesting deep speech and conscious psychologist there is in history. Instead of labelling as traditional psychology has done for so much time she is really into the real meaning of analysis and she is really understanding the problems of human behavior. Being in the moment and letting go of expectations and respecting the other's space of life, identity and decisions are so important for world peace and she addresses it every time and I love to put her on my computer and sharing her philosophy because it is a really healing way of advice. I think she is a great living being, I admire her and I love to hear her speak with so much passion and awareness. Thank You Shefali Tsabary. EK
