    I know there is tremendous value in this type of work, and am grateful to you for all the knowledge you are sharing about this process. I've had some group therapy doing inner-child work, but my big concern is my lack of ability to be less fearful than my inner child construct. My "adult" self feels terrified as much as my inner child, so I know I probably have to do some sort of other groundwork before being able to engage successfully in this process. (The therapist holding the group sessions died after a short but intense illness.)

    Some situations work really well when I am re-parenting the inner child but for some there seems to be no answer for. For example how do I convince the inner child that it was ok to be poor as a child? When the adult still hasn't made any money. It's hard to imagine what to say to the child that somehow this is OK or this is going to be OK when in reality it was never resolved? How does a parent console a child over having less than other children when they can't go to the camp or get the clothes that other children have etc when the parent is broke?
