Being a Dad is the best part of life. I watched my kids play sports, scouts, 4H and ride horses competitively. Now that they are grown up we golf, go shooting, skiing or hang around the farm and the horses. In recent years my son-in-law has joined us. Always something going on.

My father worked very hard for the family but was always a very strict religious man.
I never connected with him. I wasn’t afraid of him but I never deared to share things with him including my years of of school bullying.
I used to attend church twice a week but I simply lost faith in my Pastors and stopped attending church .
We argued alot about church, its hars for him when I point out hypocrisy.
This hasn’t helped on our relationship.
I find myself visiting my parents on a monthly basis instead weekly basis.
They dont even know about my beautiful girlfriend of 3 months.
Is there a way to fix this?

The bond between a parent a d a child starts and is esrltablishes in first 5 years kf life. After that you can only tweek it but cant make it as deep as you can do in first five years of life.
And that bond is establsihed by directly caring for your child.
Nothing can match that.
I am a 50-50 time caring father dor my two kids aged 9 and almost 5.
My daughter associates mroe with her mother because she spent more time with her at home while I was working 60 hrs a week like a dog. We separated about 1.5 years ago. we separated one and a half year ago- when my won was about 3.5 yrs of age only. He was a child who in first year or two years of his life, wouldnt let me touch him- he hust wanted his mother. Even before she left, i was already caring for my little son feeding him in my lap , and what not. He drmanded a lot of attention and sentimental attachment. It was too much for his mommy. She felt suffictaed by the responsibility.
Eventually she left because she wanted to be “full time worker” and wanted to ve “out there doing things she loved to do”.
Staying home caring for her children was a BIG burden for her.
As soon as she left,
My ex put him in preachool so she could become “full time worker” and to be “out there doing things she lives to do”.
Me , on the contrrary reduced my hours drastically , sacrificed my earnings by more than 50% and dedicated all that time to directly care for my son and daughter.
Now, almost one and a half year later, my son is so closely bonded with me that he refuses to go to his mother.
My daughter is in vacation care in the weeks when she is with her mother, but when she is with me , refuses to go to “vacation care” in holidays. She wants me.
MAKE NO MISTAKE —
Children REMEMBER all that.
THAT is what created that bond.
Everything else is just damage control— nothing more nothing less.
