We use the “switch witch” method. (They get to choose to participate) I have them pick 10 pieces and leave the rest out on the table. The next morning the candy is gone and a present is left in its place, nothing big but something fun. Gets the candy out of the house and rewards them for making a good healthy choice.

Hi I had no idea people even did this kind of thing to kids.. We don't have a tv… I'm really glad I saw this… When I saw those children's cries it broke my heart- & totally agree with you 110% it's not funny and should never be considered as such. I also think other Tv shows that laugh at people falling and having terrible accidents while doing some activity isn't funny either – I just don't get the humour! This is a great video, thanks !!

My family has never played pranks like that, so whenever I saw other parents pranking their children when I was little I would think they must be very mean people.
The only 'jokes' I remember my family playing on me was when my grandpa told all his grandchildren that the electricity box at the end of his property was the home of a witch that would cook us in her soup if we'd try to open the door, and how some cup-shaped flowers where toilets for fairies and if we saw a dog's footprint in mud we should check it's not a wolf by sniffing it cause wolves don't bathe… Probably he would laugh about it behind our backs, but never to our faces and I never felt bad about it.

They should turn it around and have the kids, "play a prank" on one of the parents just like your example. The best thing in comedy is to "puch up" not down, so it would be funnier if the kid pretended to break their parents phone instead!

Oh you are so right! One Christmas my parents gave the Gifts box by box to my siblings and I didn’t get any. I watched my siblings play with their new toys and I was sitting there all sad. Trying not to cry. They said „ well I guess you were too naughty this year so Santa didn’t bring you anything!“ I started crying and was so upset while my siblings laughed. After what felt like an eternity they told me to look outside the front door. So I did and sure enough some gifts were sitting there for me. I never forgot that Christmas ? I didn’t think it was funny at all ?

I've never thought the jimmy kimmel halloween candy prank was funny but very cruel. Pranks are not inherently bad though, we always played pranks on each other as kids on april fools and no I didnt need therapy as an adult because of it. The type of pranks I play on my kids now for this day is more like covering the mirror with shaving cream when they go to brush their teeth or rubber bands on the sink, and they love it and try to one up me. I like your channel but I have to disagree with you on some of this, kids are little more resilient than we think and playing a fun prank that we can all laugh about is not going to ruin them for life.

I had a prank pulled on me by my parents on April Fools day I must have been about 8 or 9 and I still get upset remembering it even though it wasn’t as an adult that bad but for a kid it was really traumatic

I was picked on, judged, hurt, pranked and made fun of by my entire family growing up and I hated every minute of it. I absolutely forbid anyone mistreating my children.

It really bothers me when people say "oh but they won't remember it" as though that makes it okay. Even if they forget, it still hurt at the time. I also don't like how parents are putting their popularity

What would be a good response if I see someone else lying (jokingly) to my toddler? For example, one time my husband pretended to leave the house without our baby and then he almost started crying. There are many other instances with relatives and in laws that I can’t recall but it really annoys me that they brush it off as “joking”.
