Thank you for making this video Christian. I'm new to your channel but am enjoying catching up on your content and what great content it is too. I myself have been going through a similar experience over the last year or so and this really hit a nerve with me and comes at a time where I am making big decisions on how I move forward from such experiences .
Coming both online and sadly locally in "Real" life from my local music community. I like you am self taught and my attempts at music theory have been, interesting! I've been very active and have worked as hard I can to make something of this creative passion of ours.
I've released two crowd funded albums. Had the pleasure of working with a renowned producer Mark Freegard on my second album, Erica Nockalls of The Wonder Stuff played violin on my records (As a huge fan of that band for many years that was quite special) I've opened for many great artists. I've been contacted by another songwriter I greatly admire (Justin Currie) telling me how he enjoyed my music, toured with Miles Hunt of The Wonder Stuff last year as his opening act and many, many other amazing opportunities have come my way. Entirely self created by hard work and I guess a smattering of talent and ambition.
I've been involved in a BBC Documentary on Musicians mental health issues and written blogs about exactly what you discuss in this video including daring to suggest people really should leave Ed Sheeran alone and respect he worked bloody hard for where he is. Ed opened for my old band a couple of times and I'd booked him for events I'd put on and what a lovely guy he was but locally (Norwich) he is horribly spoken about. So I dared call that behaviour out and it's seen me became socially excluded and trolled, much of it anonymously!
I'm at a point where I am considering deleting my social media. The trouble is I built my following using social media as a main component and fear if I do I undo a whole lot of years positive engagement. So I face the decision of just walking away from that local scene and facing new challenges and finding a way to continue.

I mean I am not really qualified to understand everything you 're saying or try the things you do for my self but never the less I enjoy them immensely and not to mention all the learning
I get out of your videos. And what a job they are! Lots of lots of them! I mean these things take lots of time and energy and motivation… Not to mention perseverance and will to crank those hours…
I know that some of those videos that I don't get, mean a hell of a lot more to a group of people than they do to me… Because they can actually understand and use the sampling knowledge that you are sharing for themselves… Which I am sure I would be ecstatic if I was that guy.

So well said thank you Christian. A feel like some of this also applies to music education, certainly at the time when I was a lot younger.
When I was around 16, my parents did encourage me to take guitar lessons. The private lessons were given by a young classically trained guitar player. Which means 2 years practicing. 2 years having to learning to read music. After 2 years still not being able to play a single piece of music I loved. The accompanying frustration and evoked feelings of inadequacy, put me of playing and composing my own music for 40 years ……… Not anymore ;-).
