My dog loved his kong. And he was SO smart. He realized that if he throwed the kong down stairs, the food would go out easily. Then he realized that he had just to raise his head with the kong in his mouth and released when he lowered his head fast, ha ha ha ha!!! It was so good to see him doing that!!! Ohhh, I miss him so much!!

This may sound strange, but I was taking care of a rescue German Shepard for a while. This dog had absolutely no care for food or treats save for getting enough to make him not quite hungry. He had massive amounts of play energy though. I tried to fill a Kong before, but he ignored the content. He only cared about it when it was being thrown like a ball for him. My question at this point is, how do you make a dog that's not interested in food or treats at all use the Kong? And with how that dog was, would a Kong even really be worth while for him other than another toss around toy?

My mum went and bought one of these for our 6-week old puppy
She is a Black Lab/Border Collie mix
If yes, how would one go about using a Kong toy during the winter months? Recently Chaos's (our puppy) dog food has been getting frozen to the bottom of her food bowl and thus this toy won't be able to thaw out as it should. Does this mean we should save it for when it's warmer out?

Can anyone help me? My new dog isn't taking to kongs as quickly as I thought he would. I've been giving him his meals in the Kong, but he only eats 1/4 of it. I mean it has only been a couple of days but I'm worried because 1) he's not getting his needed amount of food and 2) he does have destructive habbits that I'm worried could hurt him if he doesn't get kong/chew toy trained. Any tips? Please help.

I've done this with my GSD and she just turned 6 months which I'm either going to equate it to a baby's terrible two's or the "I hate you!" stage of the teenager… But, she will get everything out of the kong, then bring the soggy mess and drop it on my lap and stare at me. I'll think "ohhh, how cute" and tell her good girl, you ate it all! then she proceeds to eat my face off of my skull. True story.

Hi! Love your videos! we are bringing home a new pup rhodesian ridgeback from a breeder… 9 weeks on sunday.. ( .. we had a wonderfully behaved happy dog we just lost this past may… after watching some of your videos.. i have so much to learn! we never used a kong with our previous dog.. he never took to chew toys… but i would like to start our new pup with this kong … i have heard mixed things about the safety of kongs… dogs can get their tongues stuck in them! i have seen horrible pics of that.. is this really common? what age can we start her on this kong? i am thinking maybe a combo of feed from bowl and part of the food in the kong…does this work? …pss. i will use the KISS for "keep it simple silly" i try not to use stupid around my 10 year old daughter!!
