For us our parent's never did anything wrong but our sister accidentally messed things up and got a counsuler to raspy acuse our father of abuse he never did anything bad he a great dad but with these things of abuse going around people tend to over dramatically react to certain things. I haven't seen my father in months and my don't know where he is but all I know is he was taken away we were each reviewer by a person taking notes two times now. I don't know if they will ever bring him back and I'm really sad and mad. Sometimes their are story's of abusive people and parent's but I just wish people didn't forget that sometimes things aren't always like the books and not every situation is the same way. I'm worried about how our dad is doing and if he is even in a good mental state still. I wonder how aged he is now and how many years could b getting taken off his life because of the stress. I know this is definitely hurting my mother because he she is constantly having headaches and I'm worried some day she might faint of stress. My sister is also getting mentally messed up and has gotten really annoying different from when another kid in our house argues with her she gets mad. Anne I feel she thinks that because she is mentally hurt that she can say what she wants or act like she does. Anne screams when we argue I never really argue with anybody in my family but when she fights she's aggressive. I'm the second oldest in house out of our 6 kids in total and she is the oldest one. Anne thinks that everything bad is happening to her but she doesn't even think about us how we are doing. She is so messed up that sometimes my mom tells me to watch her. I don't want to make myself seem like a victim but this is messing me up a lot and seeing her act like she's having the worst time is extremely difficult to listen too I tell my siblings to ignore her when she is in her room hanging on the walls and doors and tell them to keep doing whatever their doing and not make any drama about it. I really don't think imma live last 40 and whenever my mom is stressed I'm stressed I honestly don't even care about my other siblings I just care about my mom and dad not trying to act mean but I just feel so bad for them it's too much the only enjoyment I get is when im dreaming about my fake world of things that will never happen.

The only thing I would like to have been a bit different was not being pressured about school exam results. I never felt good enough (got bullied a lot too which didnt help…and no, I dont keep resenting that…there is no point) when the truth is…is that if you are prepared to work, and have a good organized mind you will make something of your life. Constant arguments were another feature, they could go on for days and days. Very tiring and brought nothing but a sour mood to the house. Its better to divorce if you really cant live without fighting each other in words. I am still not married, and cant be bothered with it now…is that thier fault? dunno….its just part of this very screwed up world.

I adopted a clown persona to be able to keep my parents engaged, when they frankly did not seem to care or even want me around. My sisters (I am the second of three girls) were louder than me and braver than me, but I would too get punished for any of their misdemeanors. I became very conflict avoidant, a people-pleaser, the class clown. I do not think I am capable of romantic love because of the toxic marriage my parents made no attempt to hide from us. My parents (sufferers of mental illness – bipolar disorder (dad), anxiety and depression (mom), undiagnosed for most of my childhood) projected anything and everything they felt onto the blankest slate in the house (me), this was verbal, emotional, and physical. I am now in university in a different country, and i can feel these traits of mine bleeding away the farther I am away from them. I have learnt that i am not here to entertain anybody, and that it is okay to ask for help because people will listen, and that it is okay to not know something because that doesn't mean that I am stupid and deserve to be punished. I was lucky enough to make friends who had gone through the same neglect and abuse I did, and we have a support group of sorts, propping each other up and talking each other down from whatever rut or self-hate we are going through. After being away for nine months, I have to go back to my country for the summer, and i am dreading being treated like dirt again, and there is nothing I can do except try to remember the adult I am now. it is never easy, because being in front of them, i feel 4 years old again and they aren't listening and are hurting me and there is nothing i can do.

I'm super messed up. Self hatred is just below the surface. My mom had a bad childhood and wanted a perfect life when she was an adult and she made me miserable comparing me to girls she liked and approved of. She still asks about her favorites which is her way of reminding me they're better. I'm 50 and she's 81. This never goes away. "I hate you" and "You're a great disappointment to me" are the loudest in my mind. Her excuse was she wasn't physically abusive so she's rationalized her behavior. Thank God my dad is a higher level person. Levels it off some.

I think about the meaning of it all. Why God allowed me and siblings to experience what we did. I can only speak for myself but I've been blessed with self awareness I guess. Perhaps a good childhood was not meant for me, in fact the opposite…maybe God made me endure those tough times to someday be able to NOT repeat those mistakes, to understand the GIFT of giving a child a good peaceful childhood where I did not have one. To break the cycle in one fell swoop. To try my best to not repeat the mistakes of my father, to fight the very nature and nurture influences that jockey to control my behaviours. I try to do that with my son now…sometimes I fall short where I don't have a positive example to draw from. But I firmly believe that abused children true calling is to care for another child like they wanted to be cared for.
