Thank you Duane, I appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective on all of the levels that were discussed. I found your interview with Angie to be quite educational and I sincerely thank you for taking the time to help the community. You touched on the word judgement with some apprehension. I'd like to share my view of this. As an empath, I think that it's perfectly healthy to build an objective layerset within our human psyche to protect us from counterdependency, while standing our psychological ground. I prefer to think of this as 'identification' rather than 'judgement'. As a son of a narcissistic father, it's great to see a parent take a stand against narcissistic abuse, helping both himself and the view seen by his children. I commend you for your actions and your continued engagement within the survivor community. Angie, thank you so much for interviewing this wonderful gentleman. He's a fine example of a father who did right.

Ugh… This all sounds so familiar.. He keeps threatening to leave but never goes. The kids in the house are all mine. He wanted to be their dad.. He acted like an actual dad.. Until they got into the pre teen stages.. Now all of a sudden they are my kids. And he flat out told all of them, in front of a councellor, that he no longer wants to be their dad… My heart broke right then and there. He completely devastated my two youngest who have never known any other dad.. All i could do was reassure them that i will always be here for them.. Always.. I may not like my kids sometimes but i love each and every one.. So sad..

When I did the co parenting , I was trying to do the right thing…all the while he is stabbing me in the back…He had an affair left us…he told the kids that he left me he did not leave them… I told them to forgive and respect their dad because we all make mistakes…meanwhile I was painted as a bad guy…now I am estranged from my adult children…crazy…I wish I didn't cooperate and tried to do the right thing…

I did the wrong thing by pointing it out to my children about their dad and my in laws…I did not know …about these messed up personality…I wish I knew about these techniques…It was so hard to maintain…my kids believe him over me…terrible

I hear all the things that I've gone through and it really is amazing. After being divorced for 13 years I have come to a very healing conclusion; that all of the things that occurred during the 23 yrs of marriage wasn't because I was crazy. Every time I listen to or watch anything to do with narcissistic abuse I get another piece of healing. But it's a mystery to me why I didn't know these things earlier in the process. I look back and I had therapists and drs. give me psychiatric diagnoses like PTSD, Major Anxiety and Major Depression. I knew all that but I never connected as to why. I guess I must be a little slow on the uptake but better late than never.Really, talk about an epiphany!

WONDERFUL! Thank you both! Another step toward healing! "Black Hole" image blots out the imagery. I have such a hard time with that. What do you do with family photos and the children in the middle suggestion of putting pictures of the other parent in the child's bedroom. I'm sick of looking at his face… and the pictures are so confusing for me… What does a person do with them? The video is the worst…at the same time I can hear the narcissism and I wish I could enter them in court, but I was told no!

Thank you Duane and Angie…..Narcs are narcs….I have had a lot of narc relationships in my life…Thus I am now alone …Some "GOOD" friends. But, awakened and brand new now that I know now what was wrong with me all my life and IT had a name… NPD abd Narc Abuse Victim….Only one month but I am out of hell now…Thanks to Duane…. Once I came across his channel…. Learning and Healing began….No contact is frightening in the beginning!! My life of being abused in relationships all stemmed from Narc parents and a hell of an upbringing….Moved out soon as I got my first job..On my own…But, did not get the therapy I needed with a "GOOD" therapist. So went my life of one after the other of narc abusive relationships and crawling back to narc parents for comfort…and got the hell beat out of me along with Golden Child helping!! The day we learn what Narcissistic PD and Abuse is? Is the day we begin to move on to a healthy and normal life….Late or not…If we are still here…It is not too Late! Duane has now recommended I find a therapist for me now…Best advice EVER! Working on it! THANK YOU!!

He's so RELEVANT. I know guys put guns in their mouths because they didn't know what they were dealing with. The woman learned how to weaponize their 'victimhood' and coverts are artists on how to subtly sophisticately do what they do. Took their love, kids and moved to Hawaii with their new 'friend' and just sat back waiting for the alimony checks.
Major props to you Angie for giving this guy a platform on your channel. You guys do serious work.

Oh my god. So many things are the EXCACT same! Down to me asking if he even loved me and he saying I don’t know. When I asked if he wanted to be married, “I don’t know.” And the instant personality change. We’ve been separated 2.5 months and he already has a new girlfriend that he is introducing my kids to. I’m so glad this is here

Codependents and narcs go hand and hand. They both tend to pass on responsibility for their lives to others and make a lot of excuses for why they aren’t the person they should be. It’s a sad state of mind that thankfully can be overcome through honest reflection and working the 12 steps of recovery.
