im always making compromises to my sons mother. im always making reasonable solutions to issyes and still havent had a visit in 8 months! we just got done with court a month and a half ago! why cant i see my son?

Children only lose out when both parents regardless of conflict are normal empathetic human beings. I'm sorry but I think you do a great service to children when you take them away from a cluster B narcissistic parent which is exactly what you are describing in my case and that's exactly what's going to happen in my case. Thank you so much for getting to the high conflict issues. I've been waiting for that.
When one parent is a targeted parent and has been emotionally abused by the other for years and years it is very normal that they get triggered and at times react as long as that reaction is not in front of the children. Emotional self-regulation is quite an art and to be learned by all of us targeted parents.
Very little contact is the best thing we can do. But let me tell you what a challenge it is when the only reason a parent contacts you it's not because there's actually something to discuss about your children but to cause conflict, blame, degrade, belittle, or use their own children to lie.
What needs to stop is the fact that often times judges and courts will not look at what's really happening emotionally. It's like a freaking restraining order. Only if you been beat up and physically threatened can you get one. Doesn't matter if you been emotionally battered for 13 years or more. This crap has to change. I'm a changemaker and I'm thinking about taking it on in my state.
I highly recommend that anyone involved in a situation like this who is a targeted parent get a expert witness on parental alienation so that they can attest to the pathogenic parenting that's going on and also the fact that targeted parents normally react and get triggered after being abused for sometime. Definitely is helping me.

I am involved in a very toxic parenting situation. I have sole decision making rights and primary custody. He gets most weekends. However the other parent constantly lies and undermines my parenting and my parenting decisions.
This has put my child in a horrible position and I have given many opportunities for him to work with me.
I have tried communication books only for him to lose to destroy them. I have extended his parenting time when asked but I am never reciprocated in return.
I have begged for fair give/take situation.
My child's relationship with my family has suffered and my child asks to spend more quality time with me.
I am exhausted and I'm not sure what more I can do. You said there could be more even a little bit I feel like I have tried everything.

This is the problem when the filthy corrupt family court gets involved. These criminal judges are not psychologically capable of making this disgusting decisions. No wonder why this society is on the brink of collapse. Sad.

Every time my ex gets into a new relationship he forgets about my daughter. He will go weeks without seeing her, when his mommy talks to him he changes his ways but it becomes a huge argument and he always threatens me with something. I'm trying to get his time cut short because he really doesn't see her that much, I live in Indianapolis Indiana and every time I call I just get a voice mail that never calls me back. I'm moving back to Fl. in a few months and he will be taking her in the summer for three months bit I want that changed dramatically.

I think when we talk about high conflict, we are often talking about abuse. Abusive fathers are 50% more likely to seek sole custody and in 70% of those cases, even when they are convicted domestic abusers, they get sole or joint. It's abusive of the courts to demand abused parents bend over backwards to make co parenting work with someone who abuses them. My ex raped me and admitted to it in trial testimony. I'm still being asked by mediators to parent with him. My kids are having psychological problems due to his emotional and psychological abuse, but the court is still taking the position you took in the beginning of this video- that it must be both parents causing the problem. Studies show the majority of high conflict cases include abuse allegations. Courts must be careful not to become tools for the abuser to continue abusing the other parent.

You have no idea how much the targeted parent has to deal with in toxic/abusive parenting situations and this video is just like the courts short sited interpretation of reality. The overriding goal of the healthy parent is the wellbeing of the children. It is a big job just to keep them grounded and emotionally healthy when constantly exposed to the pathological parent. It is just a game to the Narc abuser ( who creates the co-parenting chaos at every opportunity) and they don’t feed into the children’s lives unless there’s an audience. I have experienced this and witnessed dozens of tragic outcomes for children who have to endure the chronic emotional abuse…nobody will take a stand to protect them.

I have done all I could to co-parent with my ex. This was an extremely toxic marriage with physical and emotional abuse. My child had to undergo counseling do to his father actions. Some how the judge ordered joint custody which is basically making it worse for my son. Instead of building a relationship with our son he threatens him and put his health in jeopardy when there together. So I have to disagree sometimes its best not to have your child around a toxic parent
