Statistically speaking it is no longer safe to leave your children alone. Hence why laws have changed to protect children. A proper parent doesn't take their children's safety for granted.

I really like this guy's philosophy towards what is important (or not) to kids growing up. Grew up in the burbs but I love the city and think that kids are exposed to so much many cultural/social experiences growing up in the city.
