I love having questions like these in my back pocket! They help kids think more deeply, learn to reflect and figure out what works and does not work for them. Thanks Jean!

Fun to learn the brain is a muscle and needs exercise. Asking a child how he solves problems and doesnt quit after mistakes will actually help the child process this information and give you the opportunity to encourage his efforts. This will challenge the child and as a result he will feel pride in hard problem solving. Thanks Jean.

For example, when your child has made a mistake they are concerned about ask, how this has made you think deeply? I think they can relate better when it is happening for them as it is more alive in their body.

Meanwhile, the bottom line is and always has been to work hard, do one's best…

I particularly like :"how do mistakes help you to think deeply?"  All of these questions require thought and insight into another person's way of thinking and being.  I love these questions and I love Jean Tracy's positive approach to parenting.  She is a champion for building self-esteem and confidence in our children.

Such thoughtful questions that we can ask the kids while we're eating dinner and discussing our day. This was such a great reminder for me – I tend to push pretty hard and don't always take the time to communicate in a manner that best supports their self-esteem and helps them grow as individuals. I really appreciate all you do to help us grow as a family.
