Preschools are now teaching and promoting ICT (Info and communication technology). School children are using devices to do their homework and doing research. How then do you limit the use of devices? We can't avoid the use of technology. I think the focus should be on "managing the content our children see on these devices".

The takeaway for me is to use screen time more actively whenever possible (learning tool, conversation starter) and less passively (as diversion, baby-sitter, reward). Of course we all do both, to some degree. I'll let my daughter watch her favorite show in peace while I cook, clean, etc, without getting up in her face about what she learned from it. Screens are also for enjoyment, and they don't always have to come with guilt attached. Moderation.
