When our adult children become adults we only hinder their adult evolutionary process when we catch them if they fall. We do a disservice to our children if we don't allow them to pick themselves up when they fall as adult children, especially if they repeatedly EXPECT you to catch them, so make bad decisions without accountability, it ends up becoming an insanity loop cycle, rinse, repeat scenario.

My parents didn't pressure me to move out. As long as I studied I didn't have to work yet I did. The rule was you xanbgive here as long as you study or work. If you work you were expected to buy your own things and helping do chores and responsibilities at home.

Why is it seen as a bad thing to live at home in the U.S. and Canada? In Latin American families,middle Eastern and Asian families are collective societies and adults live at home until they get married or work away/study away.

I am a mother of three adult children, divorced when they were 2, 4, and 12, I did not have a man to help me. But also being a mother of a son I did not control or make them dependent on me at all. The key here is knowing how to treat your young children with respect and support them, not taking over their lives. Today they all have jobs and independent and pay their own way. They thank me every day that they have the freedom to decide anything they want to do.
