I've always taken "mental health days", I've quit several jobs because I didn't feel fulfilled, and part of the reason I started working from home was so that I could live on my own internal schedule. With the Internet, I don't have to start work before 11 am… and there's no shame in staying up until 4 am. But there's one big difference between me and these Millennials: the cell phone. I've had mobile phones for years, off and on, but I got my first Smart phone last year. I have a tiny bit of exposure on social media, but I didn't grow up with it… and I spend very little time in the virtual world. That, and I never got a trophy or ribbon just for participating; we were taught to compete all the dang time, and that losing was the worst thing that could happen. We also had a Puritan work ethic, which I believe has also fallen by the wayside.
