Most of the time, I only heard Chinese from my mom, but we don't speak to each other that often. My dad travels to China every year for 5-7 months. Even when he comes back to Canada, he's with his friends more than with his family, and goes on his phone a lot. My grandparents speak it too, but I'd only see them 3-5 times a year.

Something similar I've been doing a lot with my primary school-aged students lately is getting them to finish off clauses like "Teddy was feeling hungry so… / The firetruck got there as fast as it could but… / This is my favourite story because…" and so on, which I think would be the next level up from this!

It's the matter of training the family put on the kid and later on the kid will feel the language is just her natural language that she is comfortable with. I picked up the rule of the grammar when i studied formal English in junior high but even back then i don't think the school curriculum helps me that much in developing my ability in speaking english. They're more like preparing me for the exam not to expert the language..

Nice vlog! And one more remark, that kind of training that my family did on me is really important for my brain development because it helps me to learn pattern in language. 준아 화이팅 ! 너는 보통이 아니야.. 천재야~
